Bauhaus’ co-founder David J to release Thoughts and Prayers 7” for Record Store Day

This is all good news which involves the famous artist, our guest today who may influence people to raise their voices against the senseless mass school shootings. This is a very hard and a sad case when you think it over again, kids killing kids…not even satanic daemons could enjoy such a scene. David J Haskins (Bauhaus, Love and Rockets) and Schoolkids Records have announced the new Thoughts and Prayers 7″ as Record Store Day 2019 exclusive on April 13. It shall be issued on limited edition vinyl in a run of only 500 copies, and this is the first great protest song of the year, exclusively for RSD 2019. “Thoughts and Prayers is a scathing rebuke of the United States for its inability to stop the senseless mass school shootings that are killing our nation’s children,” says David J, who bemoans the futility of “sending thoughts and prayers” to solve this tragic issue and also the inherent hypocrisy of the present government. On the contrary, brave New Zealand’s PM Jacinda Ardern won’t wait for another Christchurch mass killing and she did what she had to do with her country embracing that motion. Simple things, life-rules!

In our music now, the brand new single of David J includes rock music as it is filtered by that musician whose course is acknowledged and most respected by the 99% of the fans in the wider popular streams. Here, on the A-side, we have the title track Thoughts and Prayers where you must listen to the lyrics or find them printed on the back so the nation does not miss a word of this powerful call to action. Such a groovy indie rock tune which is so proudly armed with a manifest against…hell!

On the B-side, we find Hole in The Middle which is a haunting cover of Emily Jane White’s song. While originally written in response to the Bush administration, this powerful political song is just as relevant in today’s political environment. I guess these only 500 copies shall fly away fast on Saturday, April 13 from RSD participating record stores so you better be faster and put in a request early with your local independent record store. Save the following links below that may help you a lot. As for the time being, let’s watch the 5-minute special message of David J’s!

Hey people I'm Mike D from Athens GR (43). I'm a sound engineer, radio producer, and certainly a music "freak." I couldn't be anything else, you see: I grew up in a musical home (my father was a composer), and wanted to be a rock-star but wasn't patient enough to study music. Instead, I studied the technical stuff and went really "nuts" when I started writing articles about the bands and artists I love. It all started back in 2002 in a printed magazine (Sound Maker - RIP) and I still do it because I really like sharing my libraries, discotheque, info, connections, knowledge, and all. I'm involved in all "waves" music (new wave/darkwave/post-punk/shoegaze), punk, industrial, EBM, alternative rock, indie, electronic, avant-garde/ experimental/ freestyle...but on the other hand I can easily throw a classical CD in the player, or a jazzy tune, or...ok you get it: Music! I'd like to read your comments on my writing because you know how it goes, and you all know the glorious song by Placebo,"Without You I'm Nothing"...Thanx and enjoy Freedom and Music, Loud!
